Welcome to The Acadia Trad School.
The Acadia Trad School is dedicated to promoting education and appreciation of traditional music, dance, art, instrument crafts and associated technologies.
The school is for people who love traditional music and want to advance their knowledge and skills in music or dance. We consider Traditional Music and Arts as forms of artistic expression that have deeply rooted cultural identity and have withstood the test of time. Our initial focus is on music from Ireland, Canada, Scotland, New England, Louisiana, and Appalachia. We will be bringing other cultural music forms into our program as our organization develops.
The Acadia Trad School will open in the summer of 2013 hosting workshops with some of the great traditional musicians from Ireland, Canada, and America.
