Welcome to The Acadia School of Traditional Music & Arts. "The Acadia Trad School" is dedicated to promoting education and appreciation of traditional music, dance, art, instrument crafts and associated technologies. The school is for people who love traditional music and want to advance their knowledge and skills in music or dance. Student sign up for one week of intensive (but fun loaded!) classes held at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor Maine.

We consider Traditional Music and Arts as forms of artistic expression that have deeply rooted cultural identity and have withstood the test of time. Our initial focus is on music from Ireland, Canada, Scotland, New England, Louisiana, and Appalachia. We will be bringing other cultural music forms into our program as our organization develops. The Acadia Trad School's music program bring's world renowned musicians in for a week of classes, afternoon walk-in workshops, and concerts.

The Acadia Trad School summer music camp is in Bar Harbor Maine providing music programs for fiddle, guitar, mandolin, concertina, piano, piano accordion, banjo, pipes, whistle, bodhran, dance, song, Celtic culture, and much much more.

Full time students spend the week in intensive studies, sessions, and fun. If you can't spend the whole week with us, you can pick and choose among a large selection of afternoon workshops. There are also public concerts every night.
